Trust The Certificate

If you do not trust this certificate things like email, Canvas, Google Drive, Mathletics, the App Store, and other secure websites will not work!

This setting is applicable to iPads running iOS 10.3 or later. If you do not see the following options available, then your iPad is running an older version of iOS and you can skip this step.

  • Open the Settings App
  • Tap on General, then About

  • At the bottom of the screen, tap on Certificate Trust Settings

  • Under the heading Enable Full Trust For Root Certificates, enable the certificate named pacifichills-CA01-CA

  • When prompted with this Root Certificate warning, tap on Continue

  • Confirm that the pacifichills-CA01-CA certificate is now enabled

Log In To Google Drive

Make sure that you have done steps 1-3 before proceeding!

  • Open the Google Drive App
  • In the bottom left corner, tap on Sign In

  • Type in your school email address and tap on Next

  • Type in your password and tap on Next

  • You are now logged in to Google Drive with your school account

 

If you are already signed in to Google Drive with another Google account, follow these steps to remove the other account.

  • Tap on the icon of 3 horizontal lines in the top left corner

  • Tap on the arrow to the right of your name and email address

  • Tap on Manage Accounts

  • Tap on Manage

  • Tap on Remove next to the account you want to remove

  • Tap Remove again

  • Now follow the steps above to sign in with your school account

Log In To Canvas

Make sure that you have done steps 1-3 before proceeding!

  • Open the Canvas app
  • Start typing in Pacific Hills Christian School as the name of the school
  • Once you see the full school name below your typing, tap on it to select it

  • Type in your username and password, then tap on Login

  • When prompted, tap on Authorise

Set Up Your Timetable

Make sure that you have done steps 1-3 before proceeding!

  • Go to the Settings app then scroll down to Accounts & Passwords, then tap on Add Account

  • If you have an older version of iOS it may be listed as Calendar or "Mail, Contacts & Calendars"

  • Tap on Other

  • Tap on Add Subscribed Calendar

  • Copy and paste this link into the server name https://portal.pacifichills.net/phcs4/cal.php/calendar/username
  • Before you tap on Next, delete the word username from the end of the path. Type in your own username instead.

  • Tap Next then OK
  • In the username field, type in your full email address eg. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • In the password field type in your password

  • Tap on Next
  • After a few seconds you can tap on Save
  • If it comes up with an error, make sure you have entered your username correctly in the server field. Also double-check that you have entered your email address in the username field
  • After a few minutes have passed you will be able to open the Calendar app and see your timetable

Set Up Your Email

Make sure that you have done steps 1-3  before proceeding!

 

  • Go to the Settings app then scroll down to Accounts & Passwords. Tap on Add Account.

  • If you have an older version of iOS it may be listed as Mail or "Mail, Contacts & Calendars".

  • Tap on Google

  • Type in your email address in the format This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (replace "username" with your own username). Then tap Next

  • Type in your password and tap Next

  • When done, tap on Save

  • Open the Mail app and check that you can open your school email account

Install The Certificate

If you do not install this certificate things like email, Canvas, Google Drive, Mathletics, the App Store, and other secure websites will not work!

This step can only be done when you are onsite and connected to the school WiFi. It cannot be done from home.

  • Open Safari. Do NOT use Chrome or another browser to install the certificate as it doesn't work.
  • Go to the website cert.pacifichills.net and tap Go

  • If prompted with the following message, tap on Allow

  • When prompted, tap on Install

  • If you have a passcode on your iPad you will be prompted to enter it now
  • Tap Install again

  • Tap on Install once more

  • Tap on Done
